DAN SCHWARTZ NAMED SVP, CFO, HARPERCOLLINS WORLDWIDE
New York, NY (January 18, 2023)—HarperCollins Publishers today announced that Dan Schwartz has been named SVP, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for HarperCollins worldwide, effective January 23. He will take on oversight of all financial matters for the organization globally and will sit on the global executive committee. Schwartz will report to Brian Murray, President and CEO, HarperCollins Publishers.

Schwartz spent the last 13 years at Macmillan Publishers in a variety of roles, most recently as Chief Financial Officer. During his time there, he led a large and complex organization across corporate finance, divisional finance and business management, accounting, controlling, strategy, data science and analytics, business systems, digital rights, digital business development, ebooks, and royalties, among others. He built high performing teams, successfully implemented several business and financial IT systems, and assembled an industry-leading ebook production and distribution operation.
Prior to Macmillan, Schwartz spent more than a decade in management consulting with a focus in media and entertainment and investment banking. Through dozens of projects across strategic development, strategy implementation, commercial due diligence, M&A, post-merger integration, and analytic support, he gained significant experience in understanding and solving the key strategic and business issues facing a wide range of organizations.
Schwartz has an MBA in finance and strategy from Columbia Business School and a BS in economics with concentrations in finance and entrepreneurial management from the Wharton School.
